PRE-PURCHASE EV INSPECTIONS

Buy an EV With
Confidence

Thinking of buying used? Our pre-purchase inspection covers everything: vehicle health, battery condition, hidden damage, and safety. One comprehensive report.

PRE-PURCHASE INSPECTION

A Used EV is Different.
Get the Full Picture.

Buying a used EV is different from buying a petrol or diesel car. There’s no engine to evaluate, no transmission fluid smell. Instead, you need battery diagnostics, electrical system testing, and EV-specific knowledge.

WHAT WE INSPECT

What We Inspect

BATTERY (THE BIG ONE)

• Actual Capacity: Real kWh vs rated
• State of Health: Percentage remaining
• Degradation Rate: How fast it's declining
• Remaining Lifespan: How many years of use left
• Cost of Replacement: What it would cost to replace (budget awareness)

ELECTRICAL & POWERTRAIN

• Motor & Inverter: Testing for faults, wear
• High-Voltage System: Cables, connections, safety
• Charging System: Charger functionality, communication
• 12V Battery: Standard battery health
• Cooling System: Battery thermal management

MECHANICAL

• Brakes: pads, discs, brake fluid (EVs use brakes differently—we check specifics)
• Tyres: Wear, condition, alignment (EV-specific tyre wear patterns)
• Suspension: Shocks, springs, dampers
• Steering: Play, smoothness, power steering function
• Lights & Electrical: All lights, switches, dashboard functions

THE REPORT

A Detailed, Unbiased Report

You receive a clear report covering battery health, mechanical condition, hidden issues, estimated remaining vehicle life, and repair recommendations.

Why Inspect a Used EV Before You Buy

With a petrol or diesel car, most of the value is spread across the engine, gearbox and body. With an EV, a large share of the value is in the battery – and a battery in poor condition can cost more to replace than the car is worth. A seller may not know its true condition either.
An independent inspection before you pay gives you three things: confidence that the battery is healthy, a list of any other faults, and solid facts to negotiate the price with.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Reputable dealers and private sellers will allow an independent
inspection. If a seller refuses, treat that as a warning sign.

It depends on the age, mileage and price of the car. We tell you how the
result compares with what is normal for that model and age, so you can judge
whether the asking price is fair.

Yes. We look for signs of previous repairs, water damage and corrosion, which
matter even more on an EV because of the high-voltage system.
