HYBRID REPAIR SERVICES

Hybrid Systems Require Specialist Knowledge

Hybrids combine engine and electric motor. They need specialist diagnostics. We repair hybrid systems, battery issues, and charging problems.
WHY CHOOSE US FOR HYBRID REPAIRS?

Expert Hybrid Diagnostics & Repair in Ashbourne, Co. Meath

Hybrid vehicles are the bridge between petrol and electric. They’re efficient and clean, but they’re more complex than petrol cars. A problem in the hybrid system (engine, motor, battery, inverter) requires understanding all these components. We specialise in hybrid diagnostics and repair.

Hybrid Warning Light On? What It Usually Means

A “Check Hybrid System” message can come from the high-voltage battery, the battery cooling fan, the inverter, a sensor, or simply a weak 12V battery. Because several systems work together, the fault code alone rarely gives the answer – the system has to be tested.
On older hybrids the most common cause is an ageing high-voltage battery in which a few cells have become weaker than the rest. Depending on the test results, the options can include cleaning the battery cooling system, rebalancing or replacing individual modules, or fitting a replacement battery. We explain each option and its cost before you decide.

Frequently Asked Questions

The car will often still drive, but with reduced power and higher fuel
consumption. Continuing to drive can make the fault worse, so have it checked
as soon as you can.

No. In many cases the fault is in the cooling fan, a connection or a small
number of modules. We test first so you only pay for what is actually needed.

Toyota and Lexus hybrids, plus hybrid and plug-in hybrid models from Hyundai,
Kia, BMW, Volkswagen group, Mercedes and others.

Yes. We carry out the normal engine service and the hybrid system checks in
one visit.
