EV SERVICING & MAINTENANCE

EVs Need Maintenance Too

No oil changes, but EVs still need brake service, tyre care, cabin filters, and battery health checks. We handle EV-specific maintenance.

EV Maintenance Matters

EVs don’t need oil changes, but they’re not maintenance-free. Proper EV maintenance keeps them running smoothly and preserves resale value. EVs use regenerative braking, meaning brake components wear more slowly. However, brakes still require inspection and servicing to keep your vehicle safe and efficient.

WHAT WE SERVICE

What We Service

Mechanic testing a car battery using diagnostic equipment.

Brake System

EV brakes wear slowly – regenerative braking does most of the work. Pads checked and replaced when needed. Brake fluid replaced periodically.
Electric car connected to a wall-mounted EV charging station.

Tyre & Suspension

Tyre rotation and wheel alignment – EVs are heavier, so tyres wear unevenly. Suspension inspection – shocks, springs, dampers.

What an EV Service Covers

Electric cars have fewer moving parts, but they are heavier and deliver
instant torque, which is hard on tyres and suspension. Because regenerative
braking does most of the stopping, the brake discs and calipers are used less
and can corrode or seize if they are never checked.

A regular EV service keeps these items in order: brakes cleaned and inspected, brake fluid tested and changed when due, tyres and alignment checked, suspension and steering inspected, cabin filter replaced, battery coolant level and condition checked, and the 12V battery tested – a flat 12V battery is one of the most common reasons an EV will not start.

Frequently Asked Questions

Follow the manufacturer’s schedule for your model – for most EVs that is
every one to two years.

Yes. Electric cars are tested on the same schedule as other cars. We can
check the car before its test.

Extra weight and instant torque. Correct pressures, regular rotation and good
alignment make a real difference to tyre life and to range.

Yes, provided the service follows the manufacturer’s schedule and parts of
matching quality are used. We record the work for your service history.
